Conference Title: 2018 International Conference on Microwave and Millimeter Wave Technology (ICMMT) Conference Start Date: 2018, May 7 Conference End Date: 2018, May 11 Conference Location: Chengdu, China A square patch microstrip antenna was initially studied; its frequency and bandwidth characteristics were noted. The frequency selective surface (FSS) was then employed based on the studied characteristics to enhance the impedance bandwidth and antenna gain. With embedded air lacunas and low loss dielectric properties of the substrate integrated suspended line (SISL) technology, an antenna radiation efficiency of 91.6% is seen. The size of the antenna is relatively smaller and can be fabricated on a standard PCB technology at low cost.
