Abstract

CMOS Power consumption
Conference Title: 2018 IEEE/MTT-S International Microwave Symposium - IMS 2018 Conference Start Date: 2018, June 10 Conference End Date: 2018, June 15 Conference Location: Philadelphia, PA, USA In this paper, a multi-mode tuned inductive peaking technique with impedance transforming capability based on multi-coil magnetic coupling is proposed to widen the operational locking range of injection locked frequency divider (ILFD) with low injected power levels. Fabricated in 65nm CMOS process, the proposed ILFD operating at 60 GHz, achieves an locking range of 16.3 % from 53.4 GHz to 62.9 GHz with a low injected power of −12 dBm. Occupying a small area of 0.0288 mm2, the ILFD has a DC power consumption of 3.7 mW from a 1.2 V supply voltage.
