Abstract
A planar double-layers lens for wide angle beam steering at 220GHz is designed in this paper. The phase distribution of the proposed lens is calculated based on the phase distribution of focusing lens. The focusing lens is divided into two lenses, and the beam scanning angle of the proposed lens is studied. The proposed lens is fed by a WR-4 waveguide. The distance between the feed and the lens is affected by the interlayer distance. The interlayer distance between the double-layers lens will also obviously affect the scanning angle of the proposed lens. The 3dB scanning angle of the focusing lens is generally ±20°. The proposed double-layer lens can achieve a 3dB scanning angle of ±32°.
