Nowadays, wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs) are widely used in various environments, including business, education, government, public and individual. However, because the attacks against WLANs are easier than LAN, the security architectures in WLANs have been discussed frequently in recent years. This paper proposes a new security architecture that enhances the security of the WLANs based on the new IEEE 802.11i standard for large-scale multinational corporations. Furthermore, by adopting distributed authentication servers, it provides a better performance than the traditional architecture with a central authentication server.
