Abstract
The development of flexible electronics/displays depends largely on the success of developing a 'suitable' substrate material. Polymer flims are potential substrate material for such applications except for their poor barrier performance against the transport os small gases such as moisture and oxygen. In order to improve the barrier properties, ultra-thin ceramic coatings on polymeric substrates. While such technology has long been used in the food packaging industry, the current challenge to obtain a substrate flim with barrier performance a few orders of magnitude better than those required and achieved in food packaging. In this study, we investigate the moisture permeation properties of such composite flim.
