Broadband silicon-on-insulator (SOI) 2 x 2 power splitters are designed based on curved asymmetric waveguide coupler sections. A 50/50 power splitter with a footprint of similar to 20 x 3 mu m(2) and +/- 1dB bandwidth > 100 nm is designed and fabricated.
