Abstract

Conference Title: 2015 International SoC Design Conference (ISOCC) Conference Start Date: 2015, Nov. 2 Conference End Date: 2015, Nov. 5 Conference Location: Gyungju, South Korea In this paper, a fully differential injection locked frequency divider (ILFD) is presented. The coupled inductive peaking is proposed in the ILFD for millimeter-wave applications requiring wide locking range with low injection power levels and low power consumption. Implemented in 0.18μm SiGe BiCMOS process, the proposed ILFD achieves an operational locking range of 3.5 GHz with an input power of -8 dBm and an average single-ended output power of -5 dBm. The ILFD core uses a silicon area of only 190μm × 290 μm. The power consumption is 6.5mW with a supply voltage of 1.8V.
