This paper discusses two powerful and yet user-friendly reliability techniques that could be implemented on the PC easily by practitioners. The techniques are representation of non-Gaussian random variables using Hermite polynomials and subset Markov chain Monte Carlo simulation. It is believed that case of implementation would popularize use of reliability-based design in practice.
