Abstract
A gap waveguide (GW) diplexer is proposed with low insertion loss (IL) and high isolation for Ka-band satellite communication links. Firstly, seventh-order Chebyshev filters for the lower and upper bands are designed based on the coupling matrix (CM) and then combined with the designed T-junction for optimization. To validate the idea, a prototype of the proposed diplexer is manufactured and measured. The measured return loss (RL) and IL are better than 13.3 dB/0.76 dB in the lower passband (34 GHz-35 GHz) and 12.1 dB/0.83 dB in the upper passband (36 GHz-37 GHz), and the achieved isolation between the two output channels is better than 60 dB.
