Abstract
The characteristic mode formula based on the composite integral equation of perfect electric conductor and thin dielectric sheet (PEC-TDS) is presented in this paper. Then the resultant Characteristic Modes(CM) vectors are utilized as the global basis functions to reduce the dimension of the matrix equation discretized by the method of moments (MoM). As the numerical example, a frequency selective surface (FSS) array is analyzed to demonstrate the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed scheme.
