Abstract
While the decommissioning process may take up to a century, the social stigma towards nuclear remains forever. The thesis aims to change people’s mindset towards nuclear and nuclear architecture by allowing people to be visually and physically close to nuclear substances, such as low-level nuclear waste, without compromising safety and security. The cultural and interactive spaces are strategically placed in previously prominent spaces of the nuclear plant and aspires to recompose the relationship between new inhabitants and the memory of the territory. Key assets of the nuclear plants are repurposed to create a positive dialogue between the existing infrastructure and the new elements of project.
