Abstract
This document serves as a guide for the development and improvement of a large-scale hybrid manufacturing system that is capable of depositing, shaping and machin-ing sustainable natural materials. With the objective of achieving dimensional control of manufactured artifacts it encompasses a series of studies performed to model the extrusion process, identify printing parameters including those needed to de?ne tool-paths, develop complex predictive models of surface deformations from shrinkage, generate preset toolpaths to produce objects with remarkable accuracy, optimize a new process to improve surface quality of parts and ascertain machining parameters to achieve desired levels of tolerances for printed objects.
