Abstract
This thesis assumes a two pronged research approach to the issues - first, a socio-demographic study and second, a site study. This dual approach seeks to present a clearer understanding of how Chinese sociodemographic and cultural values have changed and will change might be translated into something that falls within the realm of the built environment, that might then inform how an atypically ‘Chinese’ site might be altered.
