Abstract
Designing effective road and pedestrian networks is vital for urban mobility and sustainability. Urban generative models enable quantitative assessment of walkability but often lack separate pedestrian network generation and comparative analysis with vehicular accessibility. This study presents an integrated generative model producing land parcels, vehicular, and pedestrian networks, along with a geometry processing algorithm for sidewalks and crosswalks. A set of walking accessibility assessment metrics is defined in seven categories. A two-step methodology evaluates 3000 design solutions for a 100-ha site, revealing trade-offs between resource-efficient and pedestrian-friendly designs, demonstrating the value of generative modelling for walkable urban planning.
