Abstract

AlQ3 Cyclic bending OLED Polymer barrier film PPV
The mechanical properties, specifically, the tensile strength and the cyclic bending of two organic light-emitting materials, namely, Alq3 and PPV, coated on barrier substrates have been examined. Static tensile test revealed brittle failure of the polymer-based barrier film. This investigation gives insight into the feasibility of polymer-based barrier film for the application to thin, lightweight and flexible organic light-emitting displays (OLED).
